The National Association of Young Black Elected Officials (NAYBEO) was organized in 2010 to promote and cultivate the advancement of young African Americans across all government offices in the US. Daron R. Sellars, co-founder and CEO of this Washington DC based organization, had the vision to realize that a non-partisan group of young, Black Americans elected officials would benefit both major parties in the United States, as well as members of the black community. “NAYBEO will serve as a support mechanism and national platform for all young black elected officials, as well as for young black emerging leaders and voters,” said Sellars.
